Maronite Bishops: Bkirki Adopts Same Stance as Sfeir
The Council of Maronite Bishops said Wednesday that Bkirki adopts the same stance as being advocated by Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir or the bishops.
"The role of the Maronite Patriarchate (Bkirki) is well-known and whether instructions were issued from the patriarch personally or the Synod of Bishops they express one opinion," said a statement at the end of their monthly meeting.
The statement, read by Monsignor Youssef Tawk, said inability to form a government "demonstrates a lack of responsibility and a state of confusion."
"Bickering between the political parties does not demonstrate a good national spirit, while duty requires intensive efforts by everybody to the good of the country," added the statement.
