Cabinet-Lineup Proposal Prepared In Coordination with Lebanese Forces
Lebanese Forces bloc MP George Adwan told LBCI television on Friday that Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri “does not prepare any [cabinet-lineup] proposal without coordinating with the LF,” reiterating that his party seeks to facilitate Hariri’s mission to form the government and to “guarantee that the 2009 parliamentary election results are reflected in the new government.”
He added that the latest development in the cabinet formation is Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun’s acceptance of Hariri’s last proposal, which grants Aoun’s bloc the Industry, Tourism, Telecommunications Ministries, along with the Energy Ministry to be headed by Telecommunications Minister Gebran Bassil.
Adwan also denied reports that the problem behind the cabinet impasse is due to disputes among the Christian parties within the March 14 alliance, saying they are “inaccurate.” He highlighted there is no difference between granting the Justice Ministry to MP Boutros Harb or to the LF.
