Resistance has the Right to Attain Weapons from any Place in the World
Speaker Nabih Berri said on Friday that "the resistance has the right to attain weapons from any place in the world", adding that he was not "defending the resistance because it does not need any defense nor it is in the place of accusations."
Berri, in a chat with journalists, denounced the demands of the "Israeli enemy in opening an international investigation" regarding the weapons-laden ship Francop allegedly sent from Iran and bound for Hizbullah. Berri warned in this context from an "attempt to entrap Lebanon".
The house speaker wondered if UNIFIL inspected the ship during its passing in the international waters toward Cyprus. Berri considered that "the Israeli piracy is a new aggression against Lebanon," and that Israel was trying to deviate attention from the damning Goldstone report.
"In case the Israeli story was true, then how the captain and crew were released and why didn”t the seizure process last more than 36 hours," added Berri.
