Reservations on Certain Clauses in Ministerial Statement
Eddy Abi Lamaa, a Lebanese Forces official, told MTV on Tuesday that Christian parties within the March 14 alliance and “certain independent figures” are inclined to have reservations on the clause pertaining to Hezbollah’s arms in the Ministerial Statement.
He said that March 14’s position on the issue of Hezbollah’s weapons is “known,” although he did not elaborate further. He added that the National Dialogue “is useless when there is one party playing a hegemonic role,” referring to Hezbollah.
Abi Lamaa also commented on Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s prospective visit to Damascus, saying it “will not have any negative implications on Lebanon” and voiced hope that Lebanese-Syrian relations will improve.
