Lebanese Forces Supports Minister Baroud
Lebanese Forces bloc MP Antoine Zahra said in Sada Al-Balad newspaper’s Saturday edition that the Lebanese Forces refuses to disregard Interior Minister Ziad Baroud’s position with regard to the incident between him and the Internal Security Forces Directorate –when ISF Director General Ashraf Rifi accused Police Brigadier Antoine Chakkour of disobeying orders and issued Chakkour discharge papers without consulting Baroud.
Zahra voiced hope all ministers would follow the Lebanese Forces stand. He said that establishment of the state depends on commitment to the constitution and instructions issued by political authority rather than by “acts on spiteful behavior,” calling on Baroud to continue his “national, constitutional and legal approach.”
