Lebanese Judge Dismissed for Misconduct
Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar announced on Monday that the Higher Disciplinary Council dismissed a judge for misconduct, including bribery.
Najjar refused during a press conference, to name the judge. He said however, that such action is the first in a long time.
He said the judge”s dismissal without compensation was a message and sign of reform in the judiciary.
Najjar also announced that the Council was mulling to take punitive measures against 18 other judges in the coming three months.
