Anti-drug effort nets brace of cocaine dealers
A police plan to combat drug trafficking came up trumps Tuesday with the arrest of infamous drug dealer Elias J.Q, who was caught in possession of cocaine in the Mirna al-Sha lou hi region in the Metn.
The high-profile sting followed the arrests of five suspected drug dealers in Beirut on Monday night, as police bolstered patrols.
Issam Fawzat A., Ihab Ali A., Nisrin Hani Sh., Fadlallah Fayez A. and Ahmad Ibrahim Q., were caught with cocaine in Hay al-Sellom in the southern suburbs of Beirut. All admitted to having been waiting for clients to purchase the drugs. The six suspects were then referred to the drug combating department of the police for further questioning.
