Spanish king sends wishes to mark Independence Day
The king of Spain, Juan Carlos, congratulated Lebanon Tuesday on the occasion of its Independence Day.
The king’s wishes came in a letter he sent to President Michel Sleiman, saying the Spanish government and the Spanish people all expressed their warmest wishes for Lebanon.
“I reiterate, Mister President, my best wishes of well being, peace and prosperity for my friends, the people of Lebanon,” the letter said. Lebanon celebrated its Independence Day on Sunday to mark the withdrawal of foreign military troops from its land and the end of the French mandate.
