Lebanese Forces bloc MP George Adwan told Future News on Sunday that the LF will give its vote of confidence to the cabinet, but will “clarify its position [during the session] and pledge to seriously monitor the government’s work.”
Adwan added that the LF’s position on the Ministerial Statement will reflect its “well-known opinions” on all issues – in particular its opposition to Hezbollah’s arsenal, which is independent of state control.
Meantime, in an interview with LBCI television on Sunday, Adwan stressed that legitimizing Hezbollah’s arms undermines the outcome of the parliamentary elections.
But, he said the arsenal would be a “source of power” for Lebanon if the Resistance gave up its arms to the state.
Adwan said the arms issue should be the only topic up for discussion in the National Dialogue, which he says should conclude as soon as the issue is resolved.
The National Dialogue “cannot turn into a second cabinet.
