Hariri in Mukhtara on Surprise Visit
PM Saad Hariri made a surprise visit to Mukhtara where he met PSP leader Walid Jumblat. Hariri headed to Mukhtara after taking part in the 10-kilometer race that was held on the streets of Beirut.
Jumblat had stressed during a speech to commemorate the birthday of his father, Kamal Jumblat, the PSP”s "centrist" position "since it is not possible that the PSP be affiliated with any party or movement."
Jumblat, however, said he has high respect for the alliances and principles "we have fought hard to uphold at Martyrs Square."
Yet, he stressed the need to discuss Hizbullah arms at the dialogue table.
"There is need for resistance weapons to defend Lebanon until conditions ripe to absorb these weapons into the (Lebanese) army," Jumblat told supporters.
