Graziano Gathers Lebanese, Israeli Officers in Naquora
UNIFIL Deputy Spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said that UNIFIL Commander Maj. Gen. Claudio Graziano hosted a meeting for top officers from the Lebanese and Israeli armies in Naquora.
Tenenti said that the discussion tackled the implementation of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, especially the latest incidents and breaches in order to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. It also discussed placing marks on the Blue Line and other topics related to the situation along the Blue Line in addition to the Ghajar village issue, according to Tenenti.
UNIFIL Deputy Spokesperson added that the meeting was fruitful, as the two sides expressed their full support and commitment to work with UNIFIL to implement Resolution 1701.
Graziano was quoted as saying that he hopes to reach an understanding about UNIFIL-proposed suggestion aiming to facilitate the withdrawal of Israeli army from the northern part of Ghajar village.
