Accusations against Syria of Hariri Crime Backfired on Them
Syrian Vice President Farouq al-Sharaa said accusations by many against Syria saying it stands behind ex-Premier Rafik Hariri”s Assassination have "backfired on them."
He told a Progressive National Front meeting in Damascus on Wednesday that Syria has succeeded in overcoming "all the crises that hit it since 2003."
He expressed hope that formation of a Lebanese national unity government would "open the way to build a positive Syrian-Lebanese relationship."
Sharaa pointed out that Syria has worked to fill the "strategic vacuum" after the war on Iraq by strengthening ties with Iran and establishing a strategic relationship with Turkey.
