LF Won”t Visit Syria for Condolences or Any Other Reason
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea commented on the latest media reports, about the absence of Syrian signals on wanting to receive a delegation from LF, by saying that his party did not ask for that in the first place. He added that for LF, the visit was not an option neither for condolences nor for any other reason.
In an interview with the Central News Agency, Geagea said that MP George Adwan”s statement about LF”s willingness to participate in PM Saad Hariri”s visit to Syria, came in the frame of approval to send a LF minister within the official delegation accompanying Hariri.
Geagea stressed that the Syrian warrants against a number of Lebanese officials were "utterly political," adding that there is no separation between the judicial and political authorities in Syria, and that the real authority is the political one.
"Is this how the atmospheres are being prepared for the visit of Lebanon”s Premier Saad Hariri?" added Geagea.
Answering a question about the fate of the Cedar Revolution, Geagea stressed that it will remain unrelenting until it achieves all its goals.
On the role of March 14 general-secretariat, Geagea said that its presence today was necessary more than ever because it represents the sole institutional expression of March 14″s existence in absence of other organizational frames.
Geagea supported President Michel Suleiman”s visit to the United States by saying: "We support any visit by the president that aims to strengthen the position of Lebanon and to claim aids or certain profits for the (Lebanese) State."
