Hariri”s Visit to Damascus Result of Syrian-Saudi Consensus
Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat said that sectarian tensions in Beirut and other regions have started to subside, adding that there is a need to continue in this direction.
During a joint visit with MP Talal Arslan on Monday to offer condolences in Khaldeh over the death of Sheikh Abu Ghazi Hamad Moussa Ghosn, Jumblat said: "We exerted efforts together with prince Talal and Sheikh Saad Hariri, we sowed and we succeeded. Sheikh Saad will be soon in Syria and that is a result of Arab consensus."
"(Saudi) King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and (Syrian) President Bashar Assad met for the sake of the nation … and for the sake of Arabism," added Jumblat.
On his part, Arslan said that he will continue with Jumblat the path of national reconciliation that they started after the May 2008 incidents.
