Army Command: Reports on Meetings with UNIFIL, Israel Harm National Interest
The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued a statement on Thursday labeling as "inaccurate" the reports about joint meetings with UNIFIL and the Israeli army to pursue the implementation of Resolution 1701.
The army communique added that the reports mentioned questions submitted by the Lebanese side to the Israeli side through UNIFIL about the situation of Ghajar village.
The communique stressed that such meetings would have a secret nature and that their agendas would not be revealed in advance. It added that those meetings discuss issues of the military command”s specialty and with the knowledge of concerned official authorities.
The circulation of such information through the media would have a negative effect on the work of the Lebanese committee and would harm the national interest, according to the Army Command”s communiqué.
