Franjieh Takes Aim at Church Priests
During the opening ceremony of a new sports stadium in Zgharta on Saturday, Marada Movement leader MP Sleiman Franjieh criticized Christian priests for not working in an open way to develop the church.
Franjieh also said that “some Lebanese political actors tried to change Zgharta’s vision by changing their slogans and positions.”
But, he said, Zgharta will remain true to its original goal of “defending Lebanon.”
Meantime, Youth and Sports Minister Ali Abdullah – who also attended the opening ceremony – said that despite some people trying to appeal Article 6 of the Ministerial Statement, which deals with Hezbollah’s weapons, the Resistance’s arms are staying put in an effort to face Israel.
Abdullah was most likely referring to the Kataeb Party’s disapproval of Article 6.
