Nasrallah Fears Regional Developments
In an interview with LBCI television on Tuesday, General Secretariat Coordinator of the March 14 alliance Fares Soueid said that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah “seemed stressed by regional changes” during his Sunday speech.
“Is Nasrallah scared from a shift in Syria’s policy? Is he scared that Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun would be Syria’s main new ally? Or is Nasrallah scared from a [possible] US-Russian agreement to impose sanctions on Iran?” Soueid asked.
He added that Nasrallah’s accusation of certain Christian parties of treason “does not frighten anybody.”
Soueid also commented on the Haret Hreik blast, which took place on Saturday and which killed three, saying that if Nasrallah truly supports establishing a strong Lebanese state, “then why did he not allow the Internal Security Forces (ISF) to investigate the Haret Hreik incident?”
I call on Nasrallah to initiate calm dialogue with all parties to learn from previous experiences, Soueid said.
