The Lebanese Forces resumed Friday discussions over the party’s new by-laws after two days of deliberations last week saw the approval of 64 of 330 articles.
The LF congress convened at Maarab, the party’s headquarters, with the participation of some 100 LF members who debated 20 new articles before the first session was concluded at noon. Another session began around 4:30 p.m. and the congress is also scheduled to convene Saturday. LF official and Chouf MP George Adwan said the adoption of the by-laws would lead to general elections in the party in early 2012. Adwan added that no deadline was imposed to conclude deliberations over the new by-laws.
