مرة جديدة لبناني يحقق نجاحات على صعيد عالمي، رمزي هيدموس اسم يضاف الى انجازات حققها لبنانيون عبر تبوء مراكز في اهم الشركات العالمية، فقد أعلنت شركة “نوكيا” أنه تم تعيين اللبناني رمزي هيدموس رئيساً للأعمال التكنولوجية في الشركة في العالم (President of Nokia’s technologies business and member of the Group Leadership team,) وذلك لأنه يتمتع بخلفية أكاديمية غنية حيث اضطلع هيدموس بدور محوري في اعتماد تكنولوجيا الـ”دولبي” كمعيار رئيسي في جميع أنحاء العالم مثل DVD وBluRay وذلك حين عمل في Dolby Laboratories وقد فاز هيدموس بجائزة “ايمي” عام 1999 للنهضة العلمية والتكنولوجية.
وكان هيدموس وراء الصفقة التي حولت مسرح الكوداك الذي يستضيف حفل توزيع جوائز الاوسكار السنوي الى مسرح دولبي، وعلى الرغم من سجله المدهش الحافل في النجاحات تظهر شخصيته المتواضعة والهادئة بشكل كبير وحبه لعائلته ووطنه.
أما اليوم في الوقت الذي تدمر خيبات الامل احلام وتطلعات الشباب في لبنان، فيأتي هذا الخبر دافعا للفخر والامل للبحث عن الفرصة المناسبة لاثبات قدراتنا الفكرية والابداعية بفعل تصميمنا وارادتنا.
وبحسب ما قاله راجيف سوري، الرئيس والمدير التنفيذي لشركة “نوكيا”، فإن هيدموس يملك مزيجاً مثالياً من التكنولوجيا والدهاء، وهو خبير في قيادة الأعمال ويملك خبرة في الابتكار وهو الشخص المناسب لرئاسة تقنيات “نوكيا” المتطورة.
من جهته، أعرب هيدموس عن تقديره لهذا المنصب، وقال إن ذلك يشرفه وسيعمل جاهداً لإنجاح الشركة وتطويرها.
ولد هيدموس في لبنان، وانتقل في سن الـ 17 إلى الولايات المتحدة، حيث أكمل درجة البكالوريا ودرجة الماجستير في الهندسة الكهربائية في جامعة المحيط الهادئ University of the Pacific.
أما هنري تيري، الذي شغل منصب رئيس قطاع الأعمال التكنولوجية في “نوكيا” من 1 أيار عام 2014، فسوف يستمر في منصبه إلى أن يتسلمه هيدموس في 3 أيلول 2014. ومنذ ذلك التاريخ، سوف يتنحى تيري من فريق القيادة وسيصبح مستشاراً لسوري فيما يخص قضايا التكنولوجيا في الشركة.

Espoo, Finland – Nokia today announced the appointment of Ramzi Haidamus, a technology-licensing expert with proven business leadership skills and a strong innovation background, as President of Nokia’s technologies business and member of the Group Leadership team, with effect from September 3, 2014.
A trained engineer, Haidamus has spent most of his career with Dolby Laboratories, which he helped to grow from a USD 72 million private business into a nearly USD 1 billion thriving public company. During his 17 years with Dolby, he held a variety of roles, most recently with chief operating officer-level responsibility. He has led innovation efforts, including those related to Dolby’s technological roadmaps and standards development for DVD and BluRay. He has experience in nurturing new technologies in an incubator-like environment and in growing new businesses, including as President of Via Licensing Corporation, a Dolby subsidiary.

Born in Lebanon, Haidamus moved at the age of 17 to the US, where he completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in electrical engineering at the University of the Pacific.
Henry Tirri, who has served as acting head of Nokia Technologies business since its formation on May 1, 2014, will continue in this role until Haidamus joins on September 3, 2014. From that date, Tirri will step down from the Group Leadership Team and will become an advisor to Suri on technology issues.
