“صورة وكلمة”: انتخاب شارل دباس أول رئيس للبنان

26 ايار: انتخب شارل دبّاس، أول رئيس للبنان، من قبل المجلس النيابي ومجلس الشيوخ برئاسة الشيخ محمّد الجسر سنة 1926 وذلك لمدّة ثلاث سنوات على ما كان ينص الدستور حينها. وتمّ انتخابه لولاية أخرى في تمّوز 1929. شكل حكومته الأولى في 31 أيّار 1926 برئاسة أوغست أديب.

May 26th: Charles Debbas (16 April 1885 – 1935) was an Eastern Orthodox  Lebanese political figure. He was the first President of Lebanon (before independence) and served from September 1, 1926 till January 2, 1934, under the French Mandate of Lebanon . He also served as speaker of the Lebanese Parliament from January 30 to October 31, 1934.
