“صورة وكلمة”: “أنا غيفارا لا تطلقوا النار”

8 تشرين الأول عام 1967: القبض على ارنستو تشي غيفارا وأعوانه بعد ثمانية اشهر من المناوشات مع الجيش البوليفي. وذكر جون لي اندرسون كاتب سيرة تشي في تقاريره عن رواية الرقيب البوليفي برناردينو اوانكا: أن غيفارا أصيب مرتين وعندما أصبحت بندقيته عديمة الفائدة هتف “لا تطلقوا النار! أنا تشي غيفارا، وأساوي حيا أكثر من ميتاً”.

October 8^th 1967: The arrest of Ernest Che Guevara and his aides after eight months of skirmishes with the Bolivian army. Che biographer Jon Lee Anderson reports Bolivian Sergeant Bernardino Huanca’s account: that as the Bolivian Rangers approached, a twice-wounded Guevara, his gun rendered useless, threw up his arms in surrender and shouted to the soldiers: “Do not shoot! I am Che Guevara and I am worth more to you alive than dead”.
