The newly selected director of the “CIA” is a Friend of Lebanon

U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump announced this morning his selection of Kansas Congressman Mike Pompeo as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).  Pompeo has been a steady and staunch supporter of Lebanon; and his opposition to Bashar Assad’s atrocities has been very vocal.  Moreover, his wife Susan, who is Greek Orthodox, grew up with many Lebanese friends

Congressman Pompeo represents a district in Kansas that has a very prominent Lebanese-American community.  He is a close friend of the Lebanese-American community in the district he represents, who have traditionally supported him in his election campaigns

Pompeo has made several fact-finding trips to Lebanon and the region during

which he met with senior Lebanese political leaders including Dr. Samir Geagea
