Tons of rumors and wrongful fake news were published since Saad Hariri’s resignation. From memes and funny posts on social media aiming to psychology affect the public opinion by means of sarcastic communication, to imaginary conspiracy theories published on a network of non-credible News websites and social media pages, to faking references to international magazines like Der Spiegel (while calling it newspaper). All of it was created out of pure imagination aiming to hit several targets:
1- Divide the Future Movement away from the Lebanese Forces
2- Create a long-term split between the Sunnis’ and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
3- Attempt to attract the Sunni’s political mood to to the Iranian camp in Lebanon.
Moving the Future Movement away from the Lebanese Forces to the Iranian camp’s side will have enormous negative effect not only on the historical relationship between the Sunnis and the Saudi Arabia, but will allow 8 March a chance towards raising their elections results next year.
It’s perfectly understandable why the Iranian camp is investing huge media and financial efforts to run this fake campaign about Hariri’s resignation. Their intention is known now. Diverting the attention from the real reasons of the resignation is a must for the above-mentioned reasons and targets.
No doubt the coming period is still blurry, but if we look at Hizbuallah statements and behavior, we see they are not willing to meet Saad Hariri in the middle of his new path. Which predicts a new period of conventional confrontation between the Lebanese “Nationals” and the “Iranian Camp” in our country.
There is no doubt as well, that the pre-resignation period will not be same as the post-resignation one. Now that Hariri is in France, we reached the point of no return. The Iranian camp lost all the material for fueling their rumors and fake news. So what will be their next narrative?
