Five Undeniable Facts Introduced by The Lebanese Forces in The Governmental Work
A New Mind-Set for the Next Generations
It’s been a year now since the Lebanese Forces’ three Ministers took over their responsibilities in the Ministry of Information (MOI), the Ministry of Social Affairs (MOSA) and the Ministry of Health (MOH).
It’s been a year now and their names were everywhere, on daily basis and I do not exaggerate when I say our Ministers were and still everywhere. On traditional media, on Social Media, but above all and most important, behind their desks and in the field, planning and executing with their super active people-oriented teams and consultants.
Their names are highly memorised now in a society craving for authentic reform.
I will not neither present, detail nor enumerate their actual achievements, which is already acknowledged by the public opinion, allies and even the political competitors. What I care about is the new mind-set, the Lebanese Forces is engraving in our culture’s way of thinking and behaving patterns:
1- In times of crisis, we need to act like it.
Which means; no irresponsible spendings, no random chaotic recruitments but squeezing the expenditure to the maximum. In times of crisis, every Minister to the last employee must control their expenses and minimise it.
2- In time of crisis, we need to be innovative and real entrepreneurs.
There are so many positive, effective and constructive projects that can be executed by all Ministries without any public budget allocated to it. And that’s what the Lebanese Forces did. So many plans in the 3 Ministries (MOI, MOSA & MOH) were executed without costing any extra dime on the Lebanese tax payers. This should be widely adopted.
3- Turning the interaction between the Lebanese service seeker and the ministries to Digital. Mobile Apps and Services, interactive Websites will minimise corruption, make the workflow smoother, easier and faster, while minimising staff expenses, on top of all, raising the “customer” satisfaction. The Lebanese Forces proved this to be true in both MOH and MOSA.
4- The Lebanese Forces proved also that ANYONE or ANY POLITICAL PARTY in Lebanon can fight corruption regardless of their political associations and alliances. While this the most crucial and difficult point where many of our allies were bothered with our behaviour. For them, we should have backed them up in many deals, whereas we believed that our presence in the Government should lead to a REAL change and reform by opposing any suspicious, non-transparent deal, written CORRUPTION all over it.
5- Ethical code of conduct and behaving means not only opposing, but also supporting and facilitating projects of benefits for the Lebanese society, even if those projects were conceived by our political competitors. And we have done that so many times, while usually, opposing political parties used to only object or act in a reluctant way towards all projects not of their own. In so many cases they deny practical solutions just for populist positioning.
It’s been a year now and the public opinion saw beyond any reasonable doubt, that managing the public and governmental institutions can be done in a better more effective way.
The Lebanese Forces proved undeniably that we are able to produce true reform and renovation.
It’s been a year now that we’ve been raising the bar, no tax payer will accept to return to the previous lower service levels. We raised the standards of the public services in Lebanon.
