حجم الخط

February 14, 2005, was a turning point in Lebanon’s history. The assassination of Prime Minister Rafik Hariri was the trigger to end the Syrian occupation, contrary to the belief that the assassination would strengthen Syrian roots in the country.

The assassination of Hariri marked the beginning of a new national chapter unifying Lebanese people under the title “Lebanon First”, and to spark a nationwide revolution, developing into a peaceful movement calling for a true, independent state.

Hariri’s assassination caught international attention, leading to the international court of justice where all bets were on it to prevent this event from being forgotten which in turn would be a political assassination.

14th February 2005 – 14th February 2018 The march will continue, the march of the independence uprising … We won’t forget Rafik Hariri and all the martyrs of the Cedar Revolution, and their sacrifices will not be wasted. And we will keep on carrying the torch of freedom and independence.
