There’s no doubt that in Unity there is strength for all the Lebanese, and weakness lies in the fact that some parties are taking major national issues at there own expense. This is what Hezbollah is doing and is putting Lebanon in a vulnerable position in the face of catastrophes, what should be understood is that the Lebanese army is the only legitimate force that truly represents the Lebanese people and it has no partner, resistance or whatever else they call it.
Political decisions in Lebanon are in the hands of the Lebanese government alone, and military decisions are in the hands of the army and official security services only. This is basic, and any other statement weakens the state and its role. On this note, Dr. Samir Geagea stated that: “No society is built without a state, which fails in case anything else is established alongside, and therefore claiming that the only reliable force is the “resistance” implies that there is no state, and God forbid, There is no Lebanon.”
Sovereignty remains one of the main topics of the upcoming parliamentary elections, and it will remain a priority for as long as it is violated, as long as independence is not achieved, and the strategic decision remains outside the state. This does not mean neglecting other topics, but with the words of Jesus Christ “Man shall not live by bread alone.” In this sense, the Lebanese Forces is working on all topics of interest to the people equally, from two main angles, sovereignty, and fighting corruption, in order to provide for all Lebanese citizens the requirements to stay in their country under the umbrella of a government able to provide security, and protect the dignity and freedom of everyone.
