Hezbollah representative and minister Mohamad Fneish considered the Saudi diplomatic envoy as a violation to Lebanon’s sovereignty, he also stated that Hezbollah is not in a hostile position towards any Lebanese party even if they share different political views.
With all due respect to minister Fneish who always chooses his words carefully, those who refuse to give their weapons to the state for unjustified reasons and admit to accepting Iranian money have no right in speaking about Lebanon’s sovereignty.
Violation of Lebanese sovereignty is caused by Hezbollah’s actions that turn Lebanon into an Iranian front on the Mediterranean. This violation justifies Hezbollah’s role in the region, especially that Hezbollah Leader Hassan Nasrallah publicly admitted to asking for Iran’s permission to fight in Syria, which means that Iran in-fact controls all of Hezbollah’s major decisions.
We understand Hezbollah’s concern regarding the Saudi supporting role to the Lebanese state, which contradicts Iran’s support to militias at the government’s expense. But what we can never understand is misleading people to believe false facts, because the truth is that the kingdom is, in fact, supporting the government while Iran and it’s allies are indeed violating sovereignty.
Let’s suppose that Minister Fneish’s statement was true, then Saudi Arabia is, in fact, helping in unifying all the Lebanese parties that support a strong independent state. The national interest lies in building a strong state taking full control of strategic decisions in Lebanon.
We ask minister Fneish why does he consider Iran’s support to Hezbollah as something necessary and even divine, while Saudi’s support to independent parties is unacceptable? Why does Hezbollah have the right to do as it pleases?
In all cases, Saudi support is helping in maintaining the strong state, and the Lebanese Forces does not consider any Lebanese party as an enemy but views the opposition of Lebanese independence and sovereignty as political opponents.
