Dr Geagea’s speech on the 14th of March confirmed that the Lebanese Forces’ electoral battle is purely political and based on principles, on the contrary to what other parties are trying to convey.
The only difference between the old elections and the upcoming one is the political alliances due to the deterioration of the 8th and 14th of March administrative structures, whereas the fundamental differences between the visions of the two coalitions will not end until a true state is formed.
While some parties avoid direct political speeches before the election fearing the loss of alliances, Dr Geagea was clear, just as he was clear before and after 2005, and at every occasion, by pinpointing the problem as coming from Hezbollah’s weapons and corruption.
The Lebanese Forces is betting on the upcoming election as an opportunity to truly build the country we all dream of, it’s betting, as always, on the people to make the right decisions when voting, and just as they were able to get rid of the Syrian occupation through massive demonstrations, these demonstrations shall translate into votes once again in the election polls.
Dr Geagea’s speech will form a guideline for the Lebanese Forces’ electoral campaign, a guideline which translates its performance in the parliament and projects what its candidates are capable of achieving, while its main concern was, and will always be, reaching a sovereign, transparent state that respects people’s dignities and freedom.
