For some time now organized and well-planned campaigns are being launched to drive people towards desperation, striking their commitment, and weakening the immunity of the Lebanese society, thus making it easy to control Lebanon. Within this framework, it is of utmost importance to correct certain misleading statements, specifically those such as “Alas for those who have gone”, or “gratitude is no more”
When we hear the statement “Alas for those who have gone” it only means that them laying down their lives for their country has gone to waste. The aim behind this statement is to forge history and mess up facts to strike the spirit of struggle in a society working for its sovereignty, freedom, and independence. The aim is to push these people to accept the “fait accompli” reality. However, had it not been for those who sacrificed their lives on the altar of the country and the cause, Lebanon today would have been a substitute state or a Syrian county. Henceforth, these lives felled down the plots be they on the outside of the inside. These lives keep fueling the torch of hope in Lebanon, the promise, the dream, and the mission.
For those who say “gratitude is no more”, to them we say “no, gratitude has not and will not wither”, gratitude has its roots dug deep in Maarab: core of the cedar revolution.
We are the people of gratitude and loyalty to the martyrs of the Lebanese Forces and the cedar revolution.
From president Bashir Gemayel, to president Rene Mouawad, to Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, to Minister Pierre Amine Gemayel, to member of Parliament Antoine Ghanem, to Gebran Toueini, Samir Kaseer, Georges Hawi, Walid Eido, Wissam Eid, Wissam El Hassan, Mohamad Chatah, and the rest of their comrades who fell with them.
To those martyrs, we say: we have taken an oath and we will remain loyal until eternity.
Your names appear on a long list that has been dropped at heaven’s gate. Down on earth and on the 6th of May the Lebanese Forces presents a list of parliamentary candidates covering the 10452 Squared Km of Lebanon to salute your list in heaven and pay homage to your memory and your ever continuous Lebanese revolution to achieve our goals of building an independent, free, and sovereign country in the service of the nation and the citizens of Lebanon.
