The past few days have come to show that the Lebanese public are focusing their interest on the court case raised by the Lebanese Forces against LBC chairman Pierre Daher regarding the propriety of the corporation. The Lebanese public interest, in this case, matches their interest in the parliamentary elections. Contacts have not stopped to find out the final verdict that was supposed to come out on the 31st of last March.
It is noteworthy to mention that the public’s interest, in this case, is based on three main considerations:
One, they refuse injustice and seek the truth holding on to returning the right to its rightful owner.
Two, it is unpermissable to allow ramifications of the Syrian occupation of Lebanon to continue especially now after 13 years of its elimination.
And the third consideration is that this case forms a crucial index towards regaining a healthy Lebanon whereby the scale of justice presents the clearest index on people regaining their confidence in the state because if a party the size of the Lebanese Forces is unable to take its right in court how is it then for a regular citizen to resort to a court of justice in the middle of interventions from here and there.
The latest decision for a rehearing of Dr Geagea, attorney Karim Pakradouni, and Mr Pierre Daher was uncalled for since their testimonies have been documented. But this decision aimed at resuming the same policy which is twisting the truth by going back to the beginning at the end of every stage especially that the court has left no stone unturned since 11 years so practically nothing remains but a ruling in the name of the Lebanese People.
However what has happened points to the fact that the body of this state is still ailing and the problem goes beyond the presence of illegal weapons in the absence of a national will. Not to generalize but the problem is in establishing the rule of state institutions, this regarding any other consideration. Actually, the Bureau of Tenders presented an example to be followed to this end.
It remains to say that there are those who believe the Lebanese Forces will despair with time and let go of the TV station which was founded by the blood of martyrs and the sacrifices of those who struggled in the service of the Lebanese cause. To those, we say: The Lebanese Forces will not tire or despair before the LBC comes back to those who founded it.
