The Lebanese Forces parliamentary bloc held its first meeting today headed by Lebanese Forces leader Dr. Samir Geagea, and issued a statement thanking the Lebanese people and party members for their trust, and promising that it will translate this given trust into tangible performance in parliament, and will implement the party’s strategy to strengthen the role of the state, it will also work relentlessly on creating better living circumstances for the Lebanese people.
Dr. Geagea insisted on meeting this early so that the bloc may start doing its job in parliament and continue the path that started in 2005. The political situation has changed since then and this requires utmost organization, coordination, and involvement in parliament so that the people can be assured that the Lebanese Forces is worthy of their trust.
Talks and reports about the elections results are coming to an end as talks arise about the formation of the new government, which some say will not be an easy process, although most political parties agree that the formation must be quick and smooth, first because of the critical regional situation that requires utmost distancing from involvement in turmoil, and second, to show the international community that there is political stability and we are ready to receive international support.
