The Lebanese Medical “Hashish” Positive Effect On The Lebanese Economy

Legalizing the Hashish or cannabis cultivation for medical purposes either in the local Lebanese market or in the International one is becoming eminent especially after the serious announcement made by Deputy Antoine Habchy, originating from the Bekaa part of Lebanon, Deir Al Ahmar, this “red soil” giving away the best cannabis quality in the world as reported by many experts in this field and published in well-known journals.

McKinsey & Company the global leader in consultancy services was hired to come up with a five-year plan to support our Lebanese falling economy and the study was presented to the Lebanese President Gen. Michel Aoun. One of the suggestions that will have quick, effective results without any backfire, is the legalization of cannabis and its use for medical purposes which will open huge opportunities for both the farmers and the Lebanese medical companies who will be able to contract directly with the farmers, thus without any risk of corruption, will study accurately their need (demand) in order to get it from the farmers (the offer) creating a new economic cycle and market in Lebanon which will increase the job opportunities, the development of Bekaa area and the Lebanese economy at the macro level.

In addition, the entire population in Bekaa was suffering from the absence of alternative agriculture plans to replace the illegal plants. The previous governments we simply not able to find that alternative that will give a competitive price for the farmers while preserving their lands. Finding markets for that alternative was not even doable. Now the solution is right here: Using Hashish not for pleasure or smoking, but to turn it into a medical ingredient, solving in one shot many simultaneous problems.
