Hezbollah is a Lebanese-based Islamic political organization that is primarily rooted in the Shiʿa-populated regions of the country. The group has established itself as a resistance force against the state of Israel, gaining recognition for its organized military structure and disciplined fighters during multiple conflicts between Israel and Lebanon.
In addition to its military presence, Hezbollah has actively participated in the Lebanese political system, gaining representation in parliament since 1992 and participating in the government as a major actor since 2005.
Its influence extends further to include charitable and financial institutions.
