أحيت القوات اللبنانية في المملكة المتحدة ذكرى انفجار الرابع من آب، بإقامة صلاة لراحة أنفس الضحايا إلى جانب شجرة الأرز التي غرستها عام 2022 في أكتون بارك – لندن، تخليدًا لذكرى ضحايا التفجير الأليم.
وترأس الصلاة الأب أنطوان الأشقر، الذي استذكر الضحايا، رافعًا الصلوات إلى الله من أجل راحة أنفسهم، والشفاء للمصابين، وأن يمنح ذويهم وكل المتضررين الصبر والعزاء.
وألقى المنسق السابق للقوات اللبنانية في المملكة المتحدة، الأستاذ جوزيف بركات، كلمة شدّد فيها على أن الحقيقة والعدالة ستبقيان الهدف الذي لن نحيد عنه، مؤكدًا أن المطالبة بمحاسبة جميع المسؤولين عن هذه الجريمة ستستمر حتى تحقيق العدالة كاملة.
كما تقدم منسق القوات اللبنانية في المملكة المتحدة، جوني الروّاس، التعازي إلى أهالي الضحايا، معتبرًا أن العزاء الأساسي والملموس هذا العام يتمثّل في صدور القرار الظني في هذه الجريمة، بما يمهّد لانطلاق المحاكمات ومحاسبة جميع المتورطين.
وأكدت أن دعمها لتحركات أهالي الضحايا وصمودهم سيبقى ثابتًا، ولن ينتهي إلا بانتصار الحق وإحقاق العدالة، ومحاسبة كل من يثبت التحقيق تورطه، منذ لحظة إدخال نيترات الأمونيوم إلى مرفأ بيروت، مرورًا بكل من تستّر أو تواطأ قبل الانفجار وبعده، وصولًا إلى كل من عمل على عرقلة مسار العدالة.
وختمت القوات اللبنانية في المملكة المتحدة بيانها بالتأكيد ألا دولة من دون عدالة، وأن العدالة وحدها تصون كرامة الوطن، وتحمي اللبنانيين، وتؤسس لدولة القانون والمؤسسات.
The Lebanese Forces in the United Kingdom commemorated the tragic anniversary of the August 4 Beirut Port explosion by holding a prayer service for the souls of the victims beside the Cedar Tree they planted in 2022 at Acton Park, London, in lasting remembrance of those who lost their lives in the devastating blast.
The prayer service was led by Father Antoine El Achkar, who remembered the victims of the Beirut Port explosion and offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the martyrs, the recovery of the injured, and for God to grant strength, comfort, and consolation to the families of the victims and all those affected.
Former Lebanese Forces UK Coordinator, Mr. Joseph Barakat, delivered a speech in which he stressed that truth and justice remain the unwavering objective from which they will never depart. He affirmed that the demand for holding all those responsible for this crime accountable will continue until full justice is achieved.
The Lebanese Forces in the United Kingdom, under the presidency of Dr. Johnny Rawass, also extended their deepest condolences to the families of the victims, noting that the most meaningful source of consolation this year is the issuance of the indictment in this case, paving the way for the commencement of trials and the prosecution of all those involved.
They reaffirmed that their support for the victims’ families and their steadfast pursuit of justice will remain unwavering until truth prevails, justice is fully served, and everyone proven by the investigation to have been involved is held accountable—from those responsible for bringing the ammonium nitrate into the Port of Beirut, to all those who concealed or facilitated the crime before and after the explosion, as well as everyone who sought to obstruct the course of justice.
The Lebanese Forces in the United Kingdom concluded their statement by affirming that there can be no state without justice, and that justice alone safeguards the dignity of the nation, protects the Lebanese people, and lays the foundation for a state governed by the rule of law and strong institutions.
