Mufti Al-Jouzo: Legitimacy won in Lebanon
The outspoken Sunni Mufti of Mount Lebanon, Sheikh Mohammed Ali Al-Jouzo said in a statement today, "The legitimacy won, a president of the republic was elected and this is victory for Lebanon".
The Mufti added "This was a triumph of the logic of the state over the logic of the gang, but the question is: Are there good intentions or bad intentions? Is there a desire to save the Lebanese people from the atmosphere of the mafia and criminal practices to move to a minimum of stability and calm and nation-building again?"
Mufti Jouzu continued " Was there a sense of responsibility in front of innocent blood that flowed on Lebanese territory, the land of the capital Beirut to the proud Mount Lebanon land, for ridiculous and stupid reasons. Will the party that caused all this apologize to those martyrs who were killed by bullets and blind hatred?" This was in reference to the Hezbollah seizure of west Beirut and the attack against the Druze of Mount Lebanon which was Repelled and resulted in major losses for Hezbollah.
The Mufti added: "the relatives of the people killed will never forget the blood of the martyrs and will fight for their rights in front of the judiciary and the public opinion. "
He continued: "Any weapon used to kill the citizens of Lebanon is a weapon of criminal murderers and butchers. This is no less dangerous than the weapons of the Zionist enemy for both the people And the homeland."
The Mufti concluded "There is a new opportunity for all and those that want this to succeed who wish should stop the provocations and the harassments. There is a new opportunity to rebuilding the constitutional institutions on civilized foundations and free from the regional and international influence. A new opportunity against the use of force , and flexing muscles against the people and the state, because the people and the nation will win in the end, no matter how long it takes.
