Only the arms of the Lebanese army are legitimate
Lebanon”s Free Shiite Movement leader Sheikh Mohammad al-Hajj Hassan criticized the recent violence in the north and called for the formation of a national safety belt to safeguard Lebanon against any sectarian conflicts.
He warned that "such a conflict will burn everyone".
He called on the national and spiritual leaders to start a new page that cultivates love and understanding between all the Communities, under the umbrella of one nation for all the Lebanese".
He stressed that only the Lebanese army has legitimate weapons and these weapons are to protect all the Lebanese . He insisted that all other parties should be disarmed for the sake of the unity of all the country, specially since they were pointed at the Lebanese citizens .
Without naming him, Sheikh Hassan criticized the recent threats of Hezbollah”s Nawaf Moussawi calling such statements "irresponsible". Moussawi said Saturday: "We will not allow anyone who is against the resistance to take the top Lebanese security position and anyone who thinks they can get the resistance to face the army is a traitor to Lebanon and the army".
Sheikh Hassan said Moussawi”s irresponsible statement triggered the north Lebanon clashes which resulted in the killing of 10 and in the injuring of 50 within 36 hours of fighting.
