MP Adwan foresees government formation in coming days
MP George Adwan of the Lebanese Forces expressed his support for Prime Minister Fouad Siniora’s “vigorous efforts” in forming a national unity government.
“I imagine that the issue has entered an advanced stage, and I hope to see the birth of the government in the next few days, Adwan noted after visiting Siniora at the Grand Serail on Friday.
The MP emphasized that all parties, without exception, were fully aware that any delay in forming the government would have negative repercussions on all Lebanese. “We want a promising summer for all the Lebanese,” he added.
“When we say a government representing all, that means a government that is balanced,” Adwan stated. “There is a House of Parliament that represents all forces, and March 14 represents a broad category of Christians, and that size must be equivalent [in the government].”
Adwan said certain details were still in need of answers, but said he had complete faith in the ability of President Michel Sleiman and the incumbent premier to resolve all issues.
