Saudi Arabia has nothing to do with the ministerial statement
Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Abdul Aziz Khoja said that nobody knows how to solve Lebanon’s problems better than the Lebanese themselves.
Khoja, after meeting with Lebanese Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh on Thursday, denied talking about the ministerial statement with him, telling reporters, “We discussed general matters, but FM Salloukh reassured me that the ministerial statement will be announced very soon.”
He added that Saudi Arabia has nothing to do with the drafting of the ministerial statement, which he called a Lebanese matter.
Khoja said that his country encourages the establishment of good Lebanese-Syrian relations and hopes things between the two countries, especially in light of Lebanese President Michel Sleiman’s upcoming visit to Damascus, will go well. He added that a good relationship between the two neighboring countries is “normal.
