March 14: Tripoli Violence Similar to Nahr al-Bared”s
The March 14 majority alliance on Friday denounced renewed clashes in Tripoli and said it was a major violation of the Doha Accord.
The March 14 Secretariat in a statement said the Tripoli clashes coincided with efforts by a ministerial committee to draft a policy statement to the new cabinet which indicates that "some (factions) insist on resorting to violence to achieve political aims."
The statement urged the Lebanese Army "which made dear sacrifices that ended the cycle of violence at Nahr al-Bared to end the same cycle of violence in Tripoli."
