Grenade targets army regiment in Tripoli
A hand grenade was thrown near a military regiment in the al-Biqar section of Tripoli at 1 a.m. on Thursday morning. No casualties or injuries were reported.
The army arrested a suspect in the area and interrogated him on the grenade attack along wiith another grenade found in the Jabal Mohsen area of the city.
A second grenade was thrown near the Nashabi Hospital on Syria Street, but did not lead to any deaths or injuries.
Thursday’s security incidents are the latest in a chain of violence that has plagued the Lebanese army in Tripoli since 2007. Most recently, a bomb killed 15 civilians and soldiers on a bus in the northern port city.
