Press Syndicates Denounce Aoun”s Prostitution Charge
Syndicates representing Press Publishers and editors in a joint statement Wednesday denounced attacks on the media in an apparent response to Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun”s complaint against alleged "media prostitution."
Heads of the two syndicates, Mohammed Baalbaki and Milhem Karam, said in a statement "no one is allowed to insult press dignity."
"Any insult targeting the press also targets Lebanon," the statement noted.
"We do not want to go into a war of words with anyone, but we would not permit anyone, irrespective of his post, to insult our sacred freedom," the statement added.
