Attacks Against Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir Outrages
MP Michel al-Murr said they keys to solving Lebanon’s tensions and problems were reconciliation and dialogue.
After meeting with the American Ambassador Michelle Sison on Monday, Murr said that Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, in his speech in Jounieh on Sunday, had touched on many of the issues that most affected the country, and Lebanon’s Christian community in particular, like Hezbollah’s weapons and the shooting of a military helicopter last month.
Murr said that after hearing Geagea’s public apology for errors committed during the civil war, he forgot all the personal problems he had had with Geagea in the past.
Murr said he was working hard to bring about reconciliation, adding that he was dismayed with recent attacks against Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir.
He also said that he felt no animosity toward MP Michel Aoun.
