Gemayel for Halting Intra-Christian Differences
Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel emphasized Thursday on the need to halt intra-Christian differences that have gone too far.
Gemayel made the remark to a delegation from the Maronite league that visited him at his residence.
Gemayel expressed hope that efforts to achieve intra-Christian reconciliation could lead to "common denominators."
He said President Michel Suleiman had proposed a rapprochement meeting between Christian leaders on the sidelines of the Conference on National Dialogue.
He said the intra-Christian reconciliation should be sponsored by Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir who is keen on halting the deterioration of relations between Christian leaders.
He said Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun should "recognize the Lebanese system and its institutions."
