Aoun to Boycott Maronite MPs Meeting
Free Patriotic Movement leader Michel Aoun would boycott the meeting by Maronite MPs scheduled for Friday, but members of his Change and Reform Bloc would take part.
A member of Aoun”s bloc, Salim Salhab, said most of the bloc”s Maronite MPs would attend the meeting hosted by the Maronite League to discuss the topic of intra-Christian reconciliation.
Orange Television, mouthpiece of the FPM, said Aoun”s boycott is a protest against the delay in inviting him to the meeting and because he did not receive a copy of the event”s agenda.
It said Aoun is to comment on the development at a press conference scheduled for Friday at 3:00 pm.
