Hoss Apologizes to Saudi Arabia
Ex-Premier Salim Hoss on Friday apologized for having accused Saudi Arabia of inviting Israel to a U.N.-sponsored conference on dialogue between religions.
Hoss made his apology statement after Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Abdul Aziz Khoja denied the original claim and expressed "regret for charges made against the kingdom regarding allegations that it had invited Israel" to the conference.
The United Nations is the side that invited Israel to the conference that is under its auspices, Khoja”s statement said.
"We urge Lebanese personalities who had made the charge against the Kingdom to seek accuracy of their information," the statement added.
