March 14 Will Win 2009 Parliamentary Elections
Lebanese Forces MP Georges Adwan said the general guidelines of the national defense strategy were agreed upon. “What job do we need to assign to the Lebanese state? Do we want it to be a hostile state always or a stable state?” he asked.
In an interview with Future News television on Tuesday Adwan also said that recent polls showed that March 14 would win the 2009 parliamentary elections by a clear margin in all Lebanese regions.
He said that the parliamentary seat in the Chouf would determine relations between the Lebanese Forces, the Progressive Socialist Party and the Future movement.
“The true resistance started with us when we forbid the naturalization of the Palestinians,” he said. Adwan added that the Lebanese Forces has been committed to the choice of the state and refrained from arming itself. “Accordingly, our choice is the Lebanese state and we will not change it,” he said.
Adwan also called for Hezbollah’s forces to become a force for Lebanon, under its will.
Adwan said that the Lebanese Forces has submitted all the information it has concerning the issue of the missing Lebanese persons in Syria to the Lebanese state. “If MP Michel Aoun succeeds in knowing the destiny of Lebanese in Syrian prisons through his visit to Damascus, I will be the first to congratulate him,” he said.
