Saniora Criticizes Syrian Charges to Mustaqbal
Premier Fouad Saniora on Friday said charging Mustaqbal Movement with financing a terror group "underestimates intelligence of the Lebanese people."
Saniora, talking to reporters at the Grand Serail, said the Mustaqbal Movement played the "basic role" in backing the army to win the Nahr al-Bared camp battle against Fatah al-Islam terrorists.
On other issues, Saniora said Minister of Telecommunications Jebran Bassil has not informed him of an alleged agreement with a new firm assigned to operate a cellular telephone network, stressing "the cellular sector is vital both for citizens and the treasury."
"All these issues should be tackled by the cabinet," Saniora noted.
