Qahwaji”s Order of the Day: Stay Away from Political Disputes
Army Commander Gen. Jean Qahwaji called on troops on Thursday to stay out of political disputes and be loyal to the military establishment.
In his Order of the Day on the eve of Lebanon”s 65th independence anniversary, Qahwaji also urged the army to remain alert to confront any possible Israeli aggression.
"I call on you as you deploy at the borders in the south to remain at the utmost state of readiness and alert to confront any possible Israeli aggression, to continuously cooperate with UNIFIL forces as per UNSCR 1701; as for the internal front, I call on you to maintain security, order and continue to face off and uproot terrorism everywhere," he said.
Qahwaji said that despite the military”s limited capabilities, the Lebanese people trust the armed forces.
He vowed to exert all efforts in strengthening the capabilities of the army to face off all dangers and challenges to the nation.
