No Posters in Greater Beirut

The Central Security Council on Tuesday decided to remove posters and provocative slogans from the streets of Greater Beirut.

The decision was taken during a meeting by members of the council under Interior Minister Ziad Baroud.

The move, a statement said, is to be "coordinated" with political factions operating in Greater Beirut which stretches from the southern Khaldeh junction to the northern Dbayeh district.

The council also assigned Beirut”s mayor to undergo an administrative investigation in coordination with the attorney general into the attempt to remove the poster of martyr Khaled Alwan, which coincided with an attack by partisans of the Syrian Social National Party (SSNP) on television reporter Omar Harqous.
