Soueid states that there is no intersection of interests to bring Resolution 1701 down
In an interview with LBC TV on Friday March 14 General Secretariat Coordinator Fares Soueid said that, “there is no intersection of interests among various sides to bring down Resolution 1701”.
Soueid’s comments came after the discovery of eight Katyusha rockets near the southern town of Naqoura on Thursday that were ready to fire an pointed toward Israel. Soueid called on the cabinet to examine what is happening in the south and find a way to implement UNSCR 1701 and stress on not violating it.
Soueid saw that if the rockets were to send a message to Israel then this means that Hezbollah is sending a message that the negotiations that are taking place between Syria and Israel are not pleasing.
Soueid expressed the March 14’s support to any reconciliation within Bkiriki since its doors were never closed, hoping that a Christian reconciliation to take place soon.
